About

Ubersmake.com is the personal website of Paul Morales.

After graduating from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California, and finding work as a QA Engineer shortly afterwards, Ubersmake.com was created. And by created, I mean that ground was broken, a sign was put up, and everything was almost immediately forgotten.

In 2012, Ubersmake.com finally found some meaning in a WordPress blog. However, most of that meaning was overshadowed by Qrririzer, a very simple, but surprisingly very useful, single-page tool that I put up in order to quickly pass URLs with ludicrous amounts of parameters to a smartphone, to aid in development and testing during my time as a software developer in San Francisco.

In 2014, I decided to travel around the world. I returned more than a year later, and revisited the languishing Ubersmake.com, but not before participating in, and winning, NaNoWriMo 2015.

For the sake of speed, I chose to use WordPress as a base to showcase work, writing, and travel. But WordPress is for blogs. It is undoubtedly overkill for what is simply a collection of static pages and links to other places, like GitHub and Flickr. That said, it is a comfortable base, and one that fits the bill for now.
